The role of coffee in the tourism sector.
Coffee culture in Indonesia has strong roots in a long coffee cultivation and consumption history. coffee was first introduced to Indonesia in the early 18th century by the Dutch, who colonized the archipelago then. they brought coffee beans from areas such as Yemen and Ethiopia.
Initially, coffee cultivation in Indonesia was focused on the island of Java, especially in the Priangan area (now known as West Java). the ideal geographical and climatic conditions in this area enable the production of quality coffee. during the colonial era, coffee plantations expanded significantly in Java, becoming one of the most important export commodities.
Over time, love and appreciation for coffee have grown in Indonesia. coffee has become more than just an everyday drink, but has also become part of social and cultural rituals. coffee has become a place for meetings, discussions, and even inspiration for artists and writers.
